Anna Voytsekhovich |
Anna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Ecology, and a PhD in Botany. She is a professional scientist, scientific illustrator, botanical artist and wildlife illustrator. A member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia and Florilegium Society. Her artworks and scientific illustrations are Highly Commended and awarded during various competitions and exhibitions (e.g. Margaret Flockton Awards 2021, Flora: The Art and Science of the Plant 2019, Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2023, etc). Anna currently resides in Maroubra and teaches botanical art and wildlife illustration workshops for the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Apart from that she often travels interstate to teach workshops with NatureArt_Lab (Canberra) and Queensland Museum Kurilpa (Brisbane). She also works on a restoration of critically endangered plant communities in Randwick Council Area as a professional Botanist and Bush Regenerator. Her preferred media are watercolour, graphite, ink, scratchboard, acrylics and oils. Anna’s artworks focus mainly on Australian native fungi, plants and animals, especially those that are endemic to the Sydney region or categorised as threatened species. In her illustrations Anna is trying to show usually overlooked connections between different species. She finds her endless inspiration in Nature, but most of all she is interested in symbiotic relationships between all living organisms and their interconnection. |
