As a self-taught artist, Jenny’s interest in watercolour painting began in September 2022. Like many new retirees, she was searching for a long-term hobby. Her interest to focus on Botanical art began after attending the 2023 Botanic Art Group Exhibition at the Australian National Botanic Gardens where she was inspired and encouraged to join the Botanic Art Group, this enabled her to extend her interest in Australian native flora and fauna.

In early 2024, she was invited to join The Gumnuts, an artists’ collective that meets on a weekly basis. Through shared experiences and knowledge from this Group, Jenny has had the opportunity to learn and further her technical skills. Jenny has attended several workshops which has since introduced her to the use of different media and techniques, such as colour pencils, graphite, and pen & ink.

The Friends Botanic Art Group 17th Annual Exhibition 2024 at the Australian National Botanic Gardens was the first time her artwork were exhibited and sold.

In 2025, Jenny’s artwork entry was selected by an experienced jury for the second Botanical Art World Wide Exhibition with 31 participating countries including Australia.

At the 2025 Annual Exhibition of the Botanic Art Group, her artwork was awarded the Horticulturists Choice and subsequently bought by the Australian National Botanic Gardens for their private collection.
