![]() | I am a passionate watercolour artist residing in Bronte, Australia. I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by a botanical treasury of plants at my home in Bronte, which is where I draw much of my inspiration from. By using watercolour, I can add layer upon layer of translucent tones to create the vibrant colours I see in nature, as well as creating a very detailed photo realistic view of each subject I paint. My artworks predominantly focus on botanical or avian subjects, capturing their intricate details on paper. I am continually adding to my plant collection specifically so I have particular plants available to photograph (Many of which have come from the Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens plant shop). Each subject is carefully studied and photographed in fine detail before selecting which flower, bird or scene to paint. I paint in sunny corner of my home under the bay windows where I have an intimate view of the garden to watch the seasons unfold. |
