Janet is a professional artist, working in pencil. Her subjects are full of life and personality.

Drawing flowers larger than life, creating their daily “life”, including the insects that live within the flowers is Janet’s inspiration for her drawings.

Hakea laurina is a fascinating flower, hanging down under a layer of leaves, the buds and flowers are intricate and textured. The fluffy pods with smooth insides and lots of shiny stamen are beautiful to draw with pencil. Janet has included some bees to show the activity and life that hums within the flowers.
