AUSTRALIAN MANGROVES ILLUSTRATED - with Halina Steele

Enjoy a weekend nature-inspired art getaway illustrating the mangroves of Australia's east coast with award-winning botanical artist Halina Steele.

About the course:

Our weekend will begin by learning about the fascinating ecology of south coast mangroves. These critically important coastal habitats provide shelter for many species, and include some interesting botanical features. We will develop observational sketches of mangrove plants looking at leaf shapes, plant structures and details. Halina will provide guidance on drawings and composition, as well as tuition on creating highlights, and ensuring depth and texture to capture the interesting elements of mangroves.  Over two immersive days, we will work on these illustrations creating a beautiful botanical work of art.

This all-inclusive weekend botanical art retreat will provide you with a relaxing space to enjoy the ambience of the coastal waters, whilst creating some beautiful artwork in the company of fellow artists.
