Botanical drawing with Cassandra Hodgins

All botanical art starts with detailed line and tonal studies.

Working in graphite only over two day-long sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of botanical drawing through observing the botanical world and discussing basic botany to understand the underpinning structure and function of botanical subjects. 

Using these new skills to create simple line and shape drawings, we then move to more complex representations by adding tone to create form. Participants will complete a number of botanically correct graphite drawings during the course

These classes are an excellent start to your botanical art career and a great refresher for artists from other disciplines.
