Rochelle draws and paints from life endeavouring to honour nature’s wisdom, and importance. For the last two years, Rochelle has painted a series of Australian seaweed paintings to raise awareness of the increasing role of seaweed in sustainable food production, packaging and carbon sequestration.
In 2015, when Rochelle’s fourth child was a toddler, she commenced weekly botanical art classes with Jenny Phillips. In 2018, one of Rochelle’s paintings was purchased for the National Herbarium of Victoria’s Botanical Collection. Since this highlight, Rochelle has created a home studio and paints everyday. Rochelle has participated in and sold works in group Botanical exhibitions and she has also been a finalist in the Kennedy Art Prize (2019, 2021) and the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award (2020). Rochelle received an Honourable Mention at the Botanical Art Society of Australia’s Flora Exhibition (2020).
In 2021, Rochelle became a Fellow Member of the Society of Botanical Artists.
