Sandra I'Anson |
Sandra I’Anson grew up in the Adelaide Hills where she developed a love of nature and Australian flora. Her introduction to Botanical art came from watching a demonstration by a Botanical Artist at a garden show. Having no formal art training she accepted the challenge of learning this exacting art form and the experiences have been very enjoyable and rewarding. While living in Victoria she studied at the Botanical Art School of Melbourne with Jenny Phillips and since moving to the Southern Highlands in New South Wales has attended regular classes with Susannah Blaxill and Elaine Musgrave. Sandra has exhibited over many years in Canberra Botanical, Beechworth, Botanica, the Botanical Art Society of Australia exhibitions in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney and The Art of Botanical Illustration, Melbourne. She received Highly Commended awards in 2015 and 2016 at the Flora: The Art and Science of the Plant exhibition in the Palm House, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. |
