The Art of Botanical Illustration - VIC

The Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne will present the fifteenth biennial ‘The Art of Botanical Illustration’ Exhibition in 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, The Art of Botanical Illustration will be presented as a virtual exhibition for the first time.

This significant showcase is one of Australia’s premier selected exhibitions of botanical artworks with paintings from local, interstate and overseas artists creating an inspiring collection of scientifically accurate works.

Applications for The Art of Botanical Illustration 2020 are now open and available from the Friends website by clicking here. The closing date for entry and online submission of artwork is 11.59pm 9 August 2020.

Artists must complete both the entry form and upload their high resolution artwork to DropBox to complete the application in full. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.

The selection of artwork based on the criteria outlined in the ‘Conditions of Entry’ will take place in August and successful artists will be notified on 1 September 2020 via email.
