Rita Parkinson

Rita Parkinson, a Melbourne botanical artist and RHS gold medal winner, studied fine art at St Martins College of Art, London and art history at the Courtauld Institute, London University. Following graduation she specialized in educational publishing, including natural history and science. Recent interests have been studies of fern croziers and also leaves, particularly the aspect of venation.

Rita has recently published two books aimed specifically for botanical artists. The first concentrates on the composition side, and the second explores various narratives in the botanical art genre:
